Speaking for those who cannot

I know how difficult it is to pay for therapies that insurance companies deny. UnitedHealthcare denied speech therapy for Luke for 3 years, since he was 18 months old.
My husband and I stopped at nothing to give Luke the frequency and intensity of therapy that the experts said he needed.  Took him to the world's best therapists, all over the country.  And then trained our therapists in Georgia to use these same methods.

You see he was nonverbal.

Completely nonverbal.

Our son.
Our little boy.
He couldn't say mama.
Couldn't say dada.
Couldn't even get out bye-bye.

But with therapy, the very therapy that UnitedHealthcare denied.....he can speak. He can tell me his wants, his needs and even his dislikes. But the best is hearing him say that he loves me or I am his "beft" friend.

Worth it all, I tell you.
